As of May 27, 2024, Canadian and U.S. securities will shorten the settlement cycle from the standard two business days after the date of the trade (T+2) to one business day after the date of the trade (T+1).
The shortened settlement cycle will apply to most equities, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), mutual funds, and certain other investment assets.
The T+1 settlement cycle will begin on Monday, May 27, 2024, for Canadian financial markets; for U.S markets it will begin on Tuesday, May 28, 2024.
